The story of wellness ( opposite of illness) movement dates all the way back to 1950's, but what really is wellness. Is it a lifestyle or a habit? Is it something that naturally flows into our lives or is it something we need to practise and build over the years? And if so, what role does it play in our lives?
For me wellness is practising and building new habits on a daily basis to improve better physical and mental health outcomes, so that instead of just surviving, you're thriving. Wellness is everything that we connect with, everything that we nourish our bodies with, everything that we do for our bodies to feel better; including exercise, sleep and mindfulness. Each one has an impact on our physical and mental health. However, running a marathon or going on a restrictive diet would not necessarily mean implementing wellness into your everyday life! What one person feels is their perfect state of wellness may be completely different from another person. This stands to a reason as we all have different goals, ambitions and personalities.

Creating Wellness Goals
Whatever goal you desire to manifest and create in your life starts with kindness. Be kind to your yourself, your body and your soul. Promise to treat yourself like a friend, a friend that you deeply care for and unconditionally love and want the best for them. Promise yourself, that even if it's hard at first you will work towards that kind of self- compassion. Ask yourself - What kind of person would I like to become? What does no longer serve me and I would like to get rid off? What goals would benefit me to become the best version of myself? What do I truly desire? What would be my set of goals if I acted from love? Set your goals from within, from the inner voice that is lovingly speaking to you, your guardian angels - gut feelings.
How to practice wellness in every day life
Practicing wellness in every day life benefits not only our mental and physical health. It also helps us to look at the world and situation from different perspective. There are days when we're feeling unexplainably tired and upset, and days when we feel energised, wholehearted, loving and fulfilled. Acknowledging those feelings, helps us to choose the outcome that we desire. Do I want to act from my lower self ( lower vibrations) or do I want to thrive and feel inspired, creative, kind, worthy and loved.
But how can you improve your wellness on every day basis?
Connect
.... talk and listen to others and practice being present, remember every connection starts within yourself. Be the kindness, love and understanding you seek in others.
Be active
....mentally and physically. Do things that you truly enjoy doing, things that bring you joy and make you feel better. Is it a long walk around the park with cup of coffee or is it a high intensity cardio workout, is it a quiet time in the day to read your book or is it listening to your favourite podcast? Make a list of things that you intuitively know that they nourish your soul and make you reconnect with yourself, figure out what you will be adding or subtracting to make room for it.
Take notice
... instead of reaching out for your phone to check your notifications, reach out for your journal. Ask yourself - What are 3 things I am grateful for this morning? What would make today great? How do I feel this morning? Remember you set the energy and intention for the day, practise gratitude every day and notice the significant changes it makes to your life.
Keep learning
... take every day as a chance to learn and try something new, embrace new experiences and seek new opportunities. They will widen up your vision and help you gain new perspective on life.
Give
... practise the art of giving. There is not gift more beautiful and valued than time. Give people your time, practise being fully present with your loved ones. Give yourself a weekly challenge to be present with the people you meet and interact. Every interaction is an exchange of an energy, be fully aware of what energy are you bringing to the table.
